Tajik judges learn standards of juvenile justice

DUSHANBE, April 10, Asia-Plus - The first of a series of training seminars on international minimal standards of juvenile justice was launched at the Training Center at the Council of Judges in Dushanbe on April 10.

’s Council of Judges, the training will be conducted till the end of the year and its main objective is in raising awareness among judges in the country of international standards on juvenile justice and it will be the best practice for application of alternative punishment of minors. The training also is aiming at promoting setting up a favorable environment and transforming the organizational structure of law enforcement institutions so that they are more “child-friendly”.
According to the source, the training staged by the UNICEF Country Office in
Tajikistan
will be conducted by skilled specialists having good experience in considering crimes committed by minors.
