“One million Somonis have been provided from presidential reserve fund for speeding up the construction work,” Mr. Khalifayev said, adding that the new orphanage will consist of four buildings intended for housing 500 children.  The news facility will be provided with regular electricity and water supplies.

A meeting of a commission for coordination of the construction of the new buildings of the “Chorbogh” orphanage with participation of the Labor Minister Zokir Vazirov and heads of the construction units building the orphanage was held in Chorbogh yesterday.  The meeting focused on the issues of speeding up the construction work and the builders were tasked to work in two shifts.

We will recall that a fire broke out in the orphanage “Chorbogh” for children with mental disabilities in the center of Dushanbe on the night of January 7-8, killing 13 children.  The orphanage, a wooden structure built in the 1934, was home to more than 90 disabled children, many of whom could not move by themselves.  The fire destroyed the building leaving only scorched walls intact.
