DUSHANBE, May 2, Asia-Plus - A Week of Memory dedicated to the 62nd anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 has started in Dushanbe.
Shahlo Musoyeva, the chairperson of the culture department of the Dushanbe mayor’s office, said in an interview with Asia-Plus that an exhibition of books about the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 opened today at the City Lohuti Public Library on sidelines of the event that runs through May 8.
According to her, meetings of schoolchildren, students and the city youth with veterans of war will be held at the library during the Week of Memory. “Besides, during this week old graves of war veterans in the city will be renovated,” Musoyeva said, noting that a military parade will be held at the Victory Park in Dushanbe on May 9.
It is expected that President Emomali Rahmon, Defense Minister Sherali Khairulloyev and Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev will attend the parade to congratulate the veterans, Musoyeva said.
