DUSHANBE, July 9, Asia-Plus -- An international two-day conference formally titled “Interaction between State and Civil Society: Experience, Results and Perspectives” opened at the Asia Grand Hotel in Dushanbe today.
The conference staged by the Perspective+ Pubic Foundation under support of the Tajik Government and the Tajik Branch of Open Society Society/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF) is aiming to consider issues related to migration, domestic violence, and gender education.
According to Rukhshona Olimova, PR-specialist, Tajik Branch of OSI/AF, establishment of cooperation between state-run and public organizations in tackling the mentioned problems is one of major topics of the conference.
“The has brought together representatives from state-run bodies, including the interior ministry’s migration service, the ministry of education, the committee for family and women’s affairs, as well as non-government organizations and media from all regions of the country,” the PR-specialist said.
Representatives from state-run agencies and NGOs of Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are attending the conference as experts, according to her.
The conference is expected to result in adoption off recommendations and appeal to the Tajik government.
