DUSHANBE, February 16, Asia-Plus - A storm warning has been announced in Tajikistan in connection with warmer temperatures, Mahmad Safarov, the deputy director of the Hydrometeorology Agency, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, mass avalanching is expected in mountain areas during the period from February 16 to February 20. “The risk of avalanches is high in Varzob, Anzob, Shahriston and Khaburabod passes and in Gorno Badakhshan,” Safarov said.
He added that unstable weather likely to be on February 16-17 and February 20-21. On February 18-19, temperatures are expected to rise to plus 10 Celsius.
