KULOB, July 9, 2008, Asia-Plus -- On Tuesday July 8, the first 160 young women from Kulob finished a three-month sewing course organized by the local office of Iran’s Imam Khomeini Relief Committee Imdad.
Two of them have received sewing machine each and been invited to make a weeklong tour of Iran.
A ceremony of hading certificates to those 160 young women was attended by representatives of the Iranian Embassy in Dushanbe and head of office of the Imdad Committee in Tajikistan.
In Khatlon’s Kulob region, Iran’s relief committee provides humanitarian aid to 850 widows, elderly people who don’t have relatives to support them and orphaned children.
