KULOB, October 14, 2008, Asia-Plus -- The OSCE filed office in Kulob has hosted a roundtable meeting formally titled “Prevention of Family Violence against Women: Joint Actions.”
The meeting was staged by the Kulob public association, Najoti Kudakon.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Ms. Tatiana Rachkova, a psychologist with Najoti Kudakon, said that the crisis center, Safobakhsh, had been established at their association under financial support of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan. According to her, the center provides free legal and psychological consultations to victims of domestic violence.
“During holding of the large action “White Band” in Khovaling, Muminobod and Shuroobod districts as well as the city of Kulob, more than 1,000 people joined the movement for life without domestic violence,” Rachkova said.
