On July 20, Turkmenistan is celebrating the national holiday - Galla Bayramy (Harvest Holiday). Saturday''s newspapers published Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov''s message of congratulations on the holiday which is marked on the third Sunday of July every year.
"Galla Bayramy is the celebration of honest and inspired work of farmers. We pay a tribute to their careful treatment of Turkmen land the fruits of which feed the whole nation," the president of Turkmenistan said.
"Turkmenistan has created all conditions for farmers to benefit from their honest work, and the successes of farmers deserve the highest marks," the message said.
"Turkmen agriculture is undergoing a large-scale reform, and we attach great importance to your harmonious work," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
In his message, the head of state quoted names of famous Turkmen grain growers, tenants and farmers who contributed more than others to the current harvest campaign.
Scientific-practical conferences and exhibitions were held all over Turkmenistan on July 19 as part of Galla Bayramy celebration. A concert of masters of art was held at the capital''s Altyn Asyr park in the evening.
Today, new buildings will be officially inaugurated in Ashgabat. Among them are a trade center, a kindergarten and two luxury houses for families of the Bread Products Association. An exhibition of agriculture achievements and a concert will be held at the Ashgabat concert hall in the evening.
Music shows, wrestling competitions and mass outdoor fete will be also held in all regions, cities and regional centers of Turkmenistan.
