The 39th meeting of the Council of heads of communication administrations of the Regional Commonwealth in the communications sphere and 13th meeting of the Coordination Council of CIS member-states on informational technologies has convened in the Turkmen capital. The meeting is taking place in the conference hall of the President Hotel, in which its opening ceremony was held.
During the meeting, the participants will discuss a number of issues on further development of communications in the CIS countries, expansion of mutually beneficial relations among Administrations of communications in the Commonwealth, interaction with international organizations in the sphere of communications and informational technologies, mutual exchange of information, etc.
As is known, the Regional Commonwealth in Communications (RCC) was established on December 17 1991 in Moscow by the heads of communication administrations of independent states. In October 1992, the heads of governments of the CIS member states signed the Agreement on coordination of interstate relations in the sphere of postal and electric communications”, by which the RCC was empowered as the interstate coordination body in the electric and postal communications.
