Deputies of the national parliament of Turkmenistan have prepared a number of amendments to social welfare laws, including an amendment providing for increasing the maternity allowance, national parliament speaker Akja Nurberdiyeva said at a government meeting on 27 February.
According to her, the parliament is currently working on improving the national legislation, in particular on the laws related to strengthening the status of families and state support to families.
"Maternity and childhood care, improvement of family welfare have been the priority areas of the state policy and all social-economic reforms implemented in Turkmenistan," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
