A Customs Union between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan may start working in January 2010, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin believes.
"Legal framework of the union has been completed. I believe that it may start working a year earlier then it has been intended - in 2010," Putin said in the State Duma.
Agency tariff may be put into force on January 1, 2010 if the sides agree, said Aleksey Likhachev, the deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on economic policy.
The Customs Union, created within EurAsEC, will establish agency tariff and uniform goods registration regulations for Kazakhstan, Russia, and Belarus.
