Turkish Polimeks company will build a winter sports complex for 10 thousand seats and a sport school of Olympic reserve at the cross of Ataturk and Oguz Khan streets in Ashgabat.
Under a resolution signed by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhameodv, Turkmennebitgazstroy state concern is to sign a Euro 134,4 million contract with the Turkish company. The document orders that the facility should be commissioned in November 2011.
In the near future, the National Institute of Sport and Tourism will expand its curriculum to include winter sports disciplines, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported last week.
It should be recalled that the first in the country Ice Palace opened in Ashgabat in 2006. It became a popular place for leisure activities of Ashgabat residents, especially in hot summer time. First Turkmen skaters, figure skaters and hockey players have been trained there over the past period.
