The obverse of the coins features the denomination of currency units, while the reverse depicts the Independence Monument against the background of the map of Turkmenistan. The upper part of the outer ring of coins carries the inscription "Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan", and the bottom part carries the national Turkmen carpet ornaments - Gel.
"New banknotes have a high degree of protection. They are durable and easy to use. The introduction of new coins will help further improve the circulation of cash money in the country," the Central Bank said.
