DUSHANBE March 29, Asia-Plus -- The first round of the 16th republican football championship among teams of the premier division started in Tajikistan on March 24.
The premier league is a league competition for football clubs located at the top of the Tajik football league system.
According to Tajikistan’s Football Federation, in this season 12 teams are competing for the champion title: Regar-TadAZ from Tursunzoda; Hima from Dushanbe; Vakhsh from Qurghon Teppa; Bobojonghafurov’s Parvoz; CSCA-Pamir (Dushanbe); TajikTelecom (Qurghon Teppa); Khujand (Khujand); Saroyqamar from Panj; Oryono (Dushanbe); Energetik (Dushanbe); Gvardiya (Dushanbe) and Hosilot from Danghara.
Four games were already held: Regar-TadAZ defeated Khujand 5-0, Parvoz defeated Gvardiya 3-0, Energetik won TajikTelecom 3-2, and the game between Hima and Saroyqamar ended in a draw, the final score was 1-1.
The Tajik football premier league was formed in 1991, and is currently contested by twelve clubs.
