DUSHANBE, June 6, Asia-Plus - Tajikistan has won two gold medals in an Open Asian Sambo (unarmed combat) Championships that was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on June 1-5.
According to the Committee for Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism, Tajikistan managed to snatch two gold medals as Nabimuhammad Khorkashev and Komil Isrofilov finished first in –100 kilograms and –82 kilograms competitions respectively.
The source at the committee said that more than 500 athletes from Russia, the United States, Germany, Singapore, Cameroon, Lebanon, Mongolia, India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan had taken part in the competitions in Tashkent.
