KHUJAND, September 21, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The flying club at Sughd’s branch of the Society of Assistance to Defense of Tajikistan will train parachutists.
According to the management of Sughd’s branch of the Society of Assistance to Defense of Tajikistan, they have recently purchased four new Russian-made training parachutes. “The Sughd regional administration has allocated 123,000 somoni for these purposes,” the source said, noting that the training parachutes will be handed over to the local flying club.
Based in the city of Chkalovsk, the flying club has a single-engine biplane utility, AN-2, which is used as parachute drop aircraft and several sport parachute instructors now work with the club. The club also has a two-seat trainer aircraft Yakovlev Yak-52.
