DUSHANBE, July 31, 2014, Asia-Plus -- The Tajikistan Football Federation (TFT) considers the possibility of opening a Football Academy in Dushanbe in collaboration with Turkey’s Fenerbahce Football Club (FC).
TFT Secretary-General Islom Mahmadshoyev announced this at a news conference in Dushanbe on July 31. According to him, representatives of Fenerbahce FC have recently visited Dushanbe to conduct negotiations with TFT top managers.
The Football Academy is expected to be established on the basis of the Avtomobilist Stadium located in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district.
“All the necessary infrastructure for the academy will be constructed by Turkish entrepreneurs,” Mahmadshoyev said.
The Tajikistan Football Federation is the governing body of football in Tajikistan. The federation was founded in 1936 in the Tajikistan SSR as a sub-federation of the Soviet Football Federation. It was not until 1994 when the Federation was accepted by the international community including the continental and global associations.
Fenerbahce Football Club, also known as Fenerbahce and Fener, is a professional football team based in Istanbul, Turkey, they are part of Fenerbahce Sports Club. Founded in 1907 by a group of local men, they are one of the most successful and best supported football teams in Turkey, having never been relegated to lower divisions, and currently compete in Super League, Turkish Cup and UEFA Champions League.
