DUSHANBE, February 1, Asia-Plus -- In 2005, capital of “Amonatbonk” (Tajik savings bank) increased and as of January 1 2006 it has amounted to more than 17 million Somonis or more than US$5.5 million, the Amonatbonk head Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov told journalists on Monday January 31.
Mr. Mahmadaminov noted that as of the beginning of last year the bank’s capital had been only 5.2 million Somonis, that is to say it increased more than 3.3 times.
One of the main sources to increase the general capital is a clear profit of the bank, Mr. Mahmadaminov noted, adding that last year, the clear profit of the bank amounted to more than 5 million Somonis, which is four times as much compared to 2004.
