KHOROG, February 13, Asia-Plus -- Number of crimes committed by servicemen of Khorog garrison has decreased.
Chairman of court of the Khorog garrison, Tohir Iskandarov, has told Asia-Plus that compared to 2004 a number of crimes committed by servicemen of the Khorog garrison last year decreased. According to him, a military court in Khorog last year considered 60 proceedings instituted against servicemen, including 33 cases on violation of military discipline. Cases of 36 offenders were considered, and eight of them were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment, 25 others were given suspended sentences. Consideration of 18 criminal proceedings was postponed to 2006.
The largest number of crimes was reported among servicemen of the border service’s units ## 2848 and 2711, according to Iskandarov.
