Deputy Tajik energy minister leaves for China to discuss cooperation issues

, February 16, Asia-Plus - A Tajik energy delegation led by Deputy Tajik Energy Minister, Nematullo Inoyatov, today left for
China
for a seven-day working visit.
According to information from the Energy Ministry, the main purpose of the visit is for members of the delegation to familiarize themselves with activity of
China
’s state-run corporation producing equipment for hydropower facilities. The Energy Ministry source says that during stay in China (February 16-23) the Tajik energy delegation is scheduled to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China in the area of energy as well as China’s participation in modernization of the Qairoqqum hydropower plant in northern Tajikistan.
The sides also intend to discuss issues related to the construction of the Shuroobod hydroelectric power station in
Tajikistan
and the possibility of
China
’s investing in this project.
