DUSHANBE, February 17, Asia-Plus -- Lately, decrease in supply of natural gas from Uzbekistan has led to irregular functioning of public transport in Dushanbe, the “Dushanbegorpastrans” director general Saydamir Makhsumov told journalists yesterday.
According to him, because of decrease in gas supplies from Uzbekistan a number of fixed-rout taxies on the streets in Dushanbe has reduced two times.
“In this connection, the main load has fallen upon buses and trolleybuses,” Mr. Makhsumov said, adding that the public transport situation in the capital is under control.
At present, some 710 private taxies are working in Dushanbe, according to him.
