DUSHANBE, March 1, Asia-Plus -- Political parties in Tajikistan are looking ahead to the presidential election due in November 2006.
The Islamic Revival Party of Tajikistan (IRPT) will take part in the upcoming presidential election in the republic through fielding its own candidate, Hikmatullo Sayfullozoda, head of the IRPT Analytical Center, has said in his interview with Asia-Plus. The party’s political council has taken such a decision, according to him.
The IRPT spokesman also noted that at present their party was working out a program of preparation of election events.
“The program provides for conducting consultations with other political parties and political circles on a mechanism of implementation of the country’s election legislation,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor concluded.
