DUSHANBE, March 30, Asia-Plus - Tajik border troops have warded an attempt by Afghan drug trafficker to smuggle more than 40 kilograms into the Darvoz stretch district of Gorno Badakhshan.
According to information from the Committee for Protection of the State Border of Tajikistan, Tajik border troops on a routine patrol spotted an armed Afghan drug trafficker who was illegally crossing the border river in the area near the
“When the border guards tried to detain the trespasser, the last manage to return to the Afghan territory,” the Tajik border service’s source said, adding that inflatable rubber dinghy, a rifle “Bur” and three sacks containing 10.30 kilograms of heroin, 10.30 kilograms of raw opium and some 20 kilograms of chars were found on the spot.
