DUSHANBE, April 21, Asia-Plus -- Mechanism of introduction of mortgage is still under consideration in the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), Chairman of the Committee for Construction and Architecture, Matlubkhon Khalifayev, remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on April 21.
According to him, representatives from the Committee, the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) and the Justice Ministry have taken part in drafting a mortgage bill. “The law is expected to be adopted within two or three months,” Khalifayev said.
“Adoption of this law will allow improving a state of housing construction in Tajikistan,” said Khalifayev, “The only problem impeding development of the housing construction in the country is lack of appropriate legislation.”
The Committee head also noted that the construction of residential buildings at the Rudaki and Nemat Qaraboyev Streets would start soon.
Besides, no half-finished residential buildings will have remained in Dushanbe by 2008, Khalifayev said. According to him, eight residential buildings have been put into exploitation in Tajik capital over the past three years. “Two new residential buildings are supposed to be put into exploitation this year and three others will be put into exploitation next year,” Khalifayev said.
He also noted that the Ministry of Economy and Trade was considering a strategy of development of the housing-communal economy in the country.
