, May 8, Asia-Plus - The World Bank (WB) intends to provide US$5 million in grants from funds of donor countries for implementation of the second phase of the project aimed at rehabilitation of the water supply system in Tajik capital.

mayor, said it was remarked Saturday [May 6] at a meeting of Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev with Mr. Cevdet A. Denizer, Country Manager of the World Bank in

, and Jonathan Kamkvalala (phonetically spelled), the head of WB project group.
The mayoral spokesman says that in the course of the talks the sides expressed satisfaction with a progress of the implementation of the project funded by the World Bank and discussed issues related to financing of the second phase of the project. Mr. Denizer noted that a part of the mentioned US$5 million would be provided from funds of Japans’ Government.
