DUSHANBE, May 17, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan insists on seeking solution to the problem of wrong use of goods trains within the framework of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSZhD), Tajik Railways first deputy head Vladimir Sobkalov said.      

“Besides, it is necessary that a three-day OSZhD session in Dushanbe should resolve the problem of improvement of an agreement on the single tariff and bringing it into compliance with international transit tariff,” Sobkalov said telling the OSZhD session in Dushanbe on may 16.  

“Tajikistan’s strategic cargoes such as aluminum and cotton fiber are supplied mainly to the third countries,” said Sobkalov, “We heave to date established good economic ties with China, Iran, the Netherlands and Turkey.”  Sobkalov also noted that Tajikistan was developing cargo shipments by rail transportation with Hungary, Portugal and Korea as well. 

“A cargo turnover with the third countries has amounted to 600,000 tons, and cargo exports exceeded cargo imports three times,” the Tajik Railways official said.   

The session of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways in Dushanbe is expected to end with of a protocol.
