DUSHANBE , May 31, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan ’s Drug Control Agency (DCA) will burn 250 kilograms of heroin on June 1.

It is to be noted that tomorrow the DCA will mark the 7 th anniversary of its establishment.  According to the DCA spokesman Avaz Yuldoshev, officers from the DCA have intercepted more than five tons of drugs, with major part of them being hero, over the past seven years.  Besides, the DCA officers have seized 78 sub-machine-guns “Kalashnikov”, 63 other firearms and more than 16,000 bullets of different caliber and other ammunition over the same seven-year period. 

In 1999-2006, the DCA in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies of the country carried out 207 joint operations that led seizure of 4,372 kilograms of drugs, including more than 2,000 kilograms of heroin.
