DUSHANBE, June 20, Asia-Plus -- Japan intends to purchase Tajik aluminum and build an enterprise on processing of aluminum in Tajikistan, according to information from Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).
The source says the Tajik CCI head Sharif Saidov yesterday met in Dushanbe with senior representatives from Japan’s “Shinsho Corporation” and “Aiko Co Ltd”. These Japanese companies have been engaged in the trading of non-ferrous metals over the past 30 years, according the source.
The Tajik CCI says “Shinsho Corporation” and “Aiko Co Ltd” have also shown interest in participation in enhancement of tourism business in Tajikistan and intend to set up tourism center in the country.
During the meeting Sharif Saidov stressed that tourism and relevant industries were one of priorities and main directions of Tajikistan’s economy and “tourism still remains underdeveloped in Tajikistan.” In the course of the talks it was also noted that opening of air line between Dushanbe and Tokyo would tackle many transport problems facing future tourists and representatives of business circles from Japan.
Head of the company “ALKONIS CO” also attended the meeting. This company is the first Japanese enterprise launched in Tajikistan with 100 percent participation of Japanese capital. This company is mainly engaged in providing interested Japan’s companies with information about economy of Tajikistan and its main projects.
