Russian investors keen on participating I development of tourism in Tajikistan

Tajikistan
, Muqim Hikmatov, the head of resorts department of
Tajikistan
’s Trade Unions, said.
According to him, Russian investors are ready to provide financial support in rehabilitation and reconstruction of sanatorium facilities in
Tajikistan
. Mr. Hikmatov says at present they are preparing investment projects for rehabilitation of sanatoriums and resorts in
Tajikistan
. “We intend to submit for their consideration projects on rehabilitation of seven resorts in
Tajikistan
– “Khoja Obigarm”, “Shohambari”, “Uro Teppa”, “Khavatag”, “Obi Garm”, as well as “Konibodom” and “Qaratogh,” Muqim Hikmatov said.
According to him, these sanatoriums and resorts need new state-of-the-art equipment and furniture. Besides, it is necessary refurbish several other resort facilities in the country, Мr. Hikmatov said, noting that it will allow increasing inflow of foreign tourists.
Mr. Hikmatov noted that number of those wanting to have rest in the country’s resorts annually increases by 25%-30%. Last year, more than 10,000 people had rest in sanatoriums and resorts in
Tajikistan
; some 500 of them were foreigners, according to him.
According to information from the Ministry of Economy and Trade, Tajik experts have drafted a series of projects aimed at development of tourism and relevant industries in
Tajikistan
.
