KHOROG, July 26, Asia-Plus - Agrarian Party of Tajikistan (APT) held its constituent conference in Khorog on July 25.  

22 delegated representing primary organizations in the region took part in the APT conference’s work in Khorog.  

Inaugurating the conference, the head of the organizational department within the central committee of the APT Karim Ishratov noted that the party has to date had more than 3,000 members.  

“Our party supports the government’s policy,” said Mr. Ishratov, “Our program is aimed at protecting rights of farmers and providing better conditions of work and life for employees of the country’s agrarian sector, promoting increase in productivity of agricultural output and improvement of living standards of the rural population.” 

The conference elected compositions of the board and auditing commission of the GBAO organization of the APT.  Deputy Chairman of the GBAO Agriculture Department, Abdulasan Mamadasanov, was elected chairman of the APT organization for Gorno Badakhshan.
