DUSAHNBE, July 25, Asia-Plus - On Tuesday July 25, senior representatives from Tajikistan ’s border service met with visiting representatives from China ’s defense ministry. 

According to information from the Tajik border service, the meeting focused on the issues related to providing technical assistance to Tajik border troops and training of border personnel for Tajikistan in China .  

The source says a delegation of Chinese military delegation led deputy chief of the air force management department of Chinese National Army, Major-General Lyu Hainyan, met with Safarali Sayfulloyev, first deputy chairman of the Committee for Protection of the State Borders of Tajikistan.  

The Asia-Plus interlocutor says that Chinese defense ministry intends to provide assistance in training of personnel for the Tajik border service already in the autumn.  According to him, Tajik border officers will be sent to India to raise their professionalism in various military disciplines, including cartography and management of border-crossing checkpoints.  

“The training of Tajik border officers will be conducted within the framework of China’s assistance in raising professionalism of personnel of Tajikistan’s power-wielding structures,” the source in the Tajik border service said.
