DUSHANBE, August 4, Asia-Plus - Over the first six months of the year, 124 Tajiks have been legally placed in jobs in the Russian Federation, according to information from the Dushanbe Employment Center.

“The majority of them are drivers, builders, and medical workers,” the source said.

According to him, they have been sent for seasonal work to the Russian Federation under agreements reached by the Dushanbe employment center and regional administrations and employment centers of a number of the Russian region, including Yekaterinburg, Penza , Chelyabinsk and Moscow .  “Besides, we have also concluded contracts with individual employers in the Russian Federation ,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.   

“On arrival in place of destination the labor migrants conclude year-long contracts with employers, and on expiry of the contract they may extend for further five years,” said the source, “An average monthly wage of them under the contracts amounts to 19,000 Russian rubles (equivalent to some US$600).” 

“We have also sent files of some 200 Tajiks wanting to seasonally work in the Russian Federation to employers, and they will select suitable candidates,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor noted.     

“All those working in the Russian Federation under contracts have been provided with dwelling and other social services,” the source concluded.
