DUSHANBE, August 8, Asia-Plus -- The National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) has minted jubilee coins dedicated to the 15 th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence, the 2700 th anniversary of the establishment of the city of Kulob and a Year of Aryan Civilization at the St. Petersburg mint, according to information from Tajik central bank. 

The NBT source says that on occasion of the 15 th anniversary of Tajikistan golden coins of 50, 100 and 200 Somonis’ denomination and two kinds of coins (silver and cupro-nickel alloy or German silver) of 5 Somonis’ deonomination have been minted at the St. Petersbrug mint.

On occasion fot the 2700 th anniversary of the city of Kulob silver coins of 3 Somonis’ denomination have been put into cirucaltion and on occasion of the Year of Aryan Civilization silver coins and coins produced from cupro-nickel allow of 1 Somoni’s denomination have been put into cirucaltion in Tajikistan, according to the Asia-Plus interlocutor.  The source added that golden and silver coins had been minted for numismatic purposes.

The NBT source says those interested may purchase the jubilee coins produced from precious metals in the country’s central bank proceeding from the worl prices of precious metals.  “Thus, the silver coin of 5 Somonis’ denomination costs 69.63 Somonis, and the golden coin of 200 Somonis’ denomination costs 2,288 Somonis,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.  Number of minted jubilee coins has not yet been disclosed.   

As it had been reported earlier, the NBT put into circulation the first jubilee coins of 3 Somonis’ denomination dedicated to the 10anniversary of Tajikistan’s Constitution and the 80 th anniversary of the establishment of Dushanbe on November 1 2004.
