DUSHANBE, August 15, Asia-Plus - Russian military base in Tajikistan launched a five-day command-staff drill today.
According to information from the military base’s headquarters in Dushanbe, the main purpose of the drill is in rehearsing coordination of actions in a joint operation on liquidating illegal armed formations.
The source says the exercises, involving some 2,000 servicemen, combat helicopters and ground support aircraft, will be conducted at three training grounds: Lohur; Sumbula; and Mumirak.
