DUSHANBE, August 21, Asia-Plus -- Mr. Ural Mukhamedzhanov, Chairman of the Mazhilis (Kazakhstan’s lower chamber of parliament), is scheduled to visit Tajikistan in September.
According to reliable source, during his stay in Tajikistan Kazakhstan’s speaker will hold talks with his Tajik counterpart, the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Saydullo Khairulloyev, President Emomali Rahmonov and other high-ranking Tajik state officials.
The talks aim to consider issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan in various spheres.
According to figures provided by the State Committee for Statistics, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan over the past seven months has valued at US$US$129.758 million, which is 125.6 percent of the January-July 2005 level. This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to Kazakhstan estimated at US$17.679 million and Tajikistan’s imports from Kazakhstan worth US$112.079 million.
