KULOB, August 25, Asia-Plus -- Kulob authorities have launched activities to combat malaria in the city of Kulob and the Kulob district.
Jamshed Rafiyev, the Kulob Head Sanitary Physician, has told Asia-Plus that eight cases of malaria have been reported in the city and the district of Kulob since the beginning of the year. According to him, they annually treat some 530,000 square meters with special anti-malaria chemical to destroy breeding places for mosquitoes.
“This year, for the first time over the past decade, we have got an opportunity to treat the whole city – trees, lofts and basements,” said Jamshed Rafiyev, “All necessary insecticides and other chemical compounds to kill mosquitoes have been provided by the Republican Center to Fight Tropical Diseases.”
