DUSHNBE, October 6, Asia-Plus - Officers from Tajik counternarcotics agency yesterday stopped a car Opel Astra on the entry to Dushanbe. The car was stopped on suspicion of having been involved in transportation of drugs, according press service of the Drug Control Agency (DCA).
The source said the car had been taken to the DCA for thorough searching. The DCA dog trained in seeking drugs found 2.60 kilograms of marijuana hidden in the car’s tank. The car’s driver was arrested and criminal proceedings were instituted to investigate this case.
According to the DCA press service, their officers have intercepted more than 1,160 kilograms of drugs over the past nine months. The totaled included 405 kilograms of heroin.
