DUSHANBE, January 9, Asia-Plus -- A poster exhibition dedicated to the 60 th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations opened at Russian-Slavic University (RTSU) in Dushanbe on January 8.  

The exhibition staged by the Polish Embassy in Tajikistan (residence in Tashkent, Uzbekistan) under support of the United Nations Tajikistan Office of Peace-Building (UTOP) will run at the University for more than a month and after that the posters will be exhibited at the Culture Center Bactria.  

Sebastian Ozhel (phonetically spelled), First Secretary, Polish Embassy, said that Poland’s Foreign Minister announced the competition “The UN Poster” competition last year.  The 40 best posters had been selected and it was decided to show them throughout the world.    

Ozhel noted that Tajikistan is the first country where there is no Polish Embassy but the exhibition was staged.  “The exhibition is the next step towards expansion of cultural cooperation between the two countries,” said Polish diplomat, “Last December, with aid of Tajikistan’s Foreign Ministry the Polish Embassy published a collection of materials about political, economic and cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and Poland and marathon of Polish movie was held in Dushanbe in 2005.”  

According to him, the exhibition was already held in Georgia and Uzbekistan and after Tajikistan it will be organized in Ukraine.
