DUSHANBE, February 1, Asia-Plus - The Construction of the Ismaili Center in Dushanbe has been suspended for three months as license of Italy’s Codest International, constructing the Center, has been revoked.
Codest International is also building the Palace of Nation in Dushanbe.
According to the Agency for Architecture and Construction, a decision to revoke Codest International’s license was made after “the company had included additional types of work into its activity.”
Mounira Khudoiberdiyeva, a chief specialist with the licensing department of the Agency, said in an interview with Asia-Plus that when drawing up papers for getting license the construction company should describe all types of work it will done. “Since additional types of work have appeared, Codest International should list them in appropriate documents,” said Khudoiberdiyeva, “Therefore the company had to reregister its license and they have been already granted a new license for five years.”
In the meantime, the Ismaili Center construction project manager Abdul Hadi Khan noted that despite the suspension, they will be able to put the Center into operation by the date fixed. “The construction of three buildings is nearing completion and works on the fourth one – administrative building – are going on,” Abdul Hadi Khan said, adding that 60 specialists will be invited from India, who jointly with Tajik workers will complete facing works.
Asked about the progress of the construction of the Palace of Nation, a source at the Codest International Dushanbe Office said that it remains to carry out facing works.
