KHOROG, March 1, Asia-Plus - Despite existing electricity supplies problems, studies started at Khorog State University on February 26.
Winter holidays at Khorog University were scheduled to end on February 19 but because of strict electricity supplies limitations introduced in Khorog after the flooding of the Pamir-1 hydropower plant the winter holidays have been extended until the end of February. All University’s offices and classes are heated by electrical appliances.
According to the University’s administration, at present only the main building of Khorog University receives electricity supplies on restricted basis, only three hours per day, while electricity supplies to other buildings have been cut off.
