DUSHANBE, March 17, Asia-Plus -- Expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan was one of major topics of a March 16 meeting of Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of Parliament), with visiting Azeri President Ilham Aliyev.
Shavkat Saidov, an aide to the Majlisi Milli speaker, said that in the course of the talks Ubaidulloyev had noted that members of the Majlisi Milli will undertake efforts to promote implementation of bilateral documents signed in Dushanbe on March 15.
To raise a level of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan Ubaidulloyev offered Aliyev to organize mutual travels of parliamentarians of the two countries, according to Saidov.
Aliyev, for his part, invited Tajik speaker to pay visit to Azerbaijan, he said.
