DUSHANBE, May 15, Asia-Plus -- Cellular operator Beeline has expanded its operation into Norak as well as the districts of Qumsangir, Qubodiyon and Yovon in the Khatlon province, Asia-Plus has learned at the public relations service of open joint-stock company (OJSC) Tacom.
The source at OJSC Tacom said that residents of Norak and Yovon might use services offered by Beeline since May 12 and residents of Qumsangir and Qubodiyon might use services provided by Beeline since today.
He added the company offers its clients in Tajikistan new service – Mobile Transfer. “One may transfer money to his/her relatives, friends or colleagues using wireless mobility,” the source said.
Russia''s mobile company, VimpelCom (Vimpel-Communications), which operates under the Beeline brand, introduced the brand in Tajikistan on September 11 2006. VimpelCom on December 27 last year announced the purchase of a 60% stake in Tajik cellular operator Tacom for $12 million.
Beeline now has more than 100,000 clients in Tajikistan.
