DUSHANBE , October 6, Asia-Plus -- Heads of member nations of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) have reached consensus on all issues tabled to the agenda of a session of the EAEC Interstate Committee that was held in Dushanbe on October 6.  

Inaugurating an enlarged session, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, “In a narrow composition, we have reached consensus on all issues, even the disputable one, that were tabled to the agenda, including energy issues, economic integration and creation of the Customs Union.”   

            “We heard out points of view of all presidents on all issues took into consideration comments of all colleagues,” the Russian president said.   

The EAEC summit ended with making positive decisions on all issues, and all documents, including those that form legal model of creation of the Customs Union, were singed.   This document was still inked by the presidents of Belarus , Kazakhstan and Russia .   

The EAEC leaders also unanimously approved a draft concept on creation of a common energy market.   During the summit, it was decided to submit the concept for consideration to the EAEC heads of government.   

            Vladimir Putin also said that the EAEC leaders had unanimously seconded candidacy of Tajikistan to hold the rotating EAEC presidency in 2008

            The summit elected new secretary general of the Community.   Tair Mansourov, who had previously governed one of Kazakhstan ’s regions, was elected as the EAEC secretary general, replacing Grigory Rapota.   

The next meeting of the EAEC Interstate Committee will be held in Moscow in 2008.
