KULOB, October 25, Asia-Plus -- Position of the organization of the Islamic Revival Party (IRPT) for Kulob remains the same – it will not participate in parliamentary by-election in the Kulob constituency if its members are not included on electoral commissions in all polling stations.
Muhammadsharif Nabiyev, the head of the IRPT city organization in Kulob, remarked this in an interview with Asia-Plus.
He further added that a court in Kulob has not yet handed down ruling on the April parliamentary election, when the IRPT representative withdrew his candidacy but his name remained in candidate in ballot papers.
“Judge Lutfullo Rasoulov, who was charged to consider this case, has delayed consideration of the case under various pretexts,” said Nabiyev, “Moreover, he has asked me to waive sue.”
We will recall that the by-election in the Kulob constituency is scheduled for December 16. The by-election will be held in connection with death of Khumdin Sharipov, who represented the Kulob district in the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament).
