DUSHANBE, January 14, Asia-Plus -- As of January 1, 2008, open joint stock company Orienbonk, which is Tajikistan’s largest commercial bank, has had its credit portfolio of more than 520 million somonis (equivalent to so some $151 million), which is 10.6 percent more than by beginning of 2007, information posted on Orienbonk’s website said.
As of January 1, 2007, bank’s credit portfolio amounted to 470 million somonis.
In the sectoral cross section the proportions of loans provided in national currency were:: private commercial enterprises – 92.2 percent; agricultural enterprises – 1.2 percent; state-run enterprises – 3 percent, and physical entities – 3.6 percent, and the proportions of loans provided in the foreign currency were: private commercial enterprises – 57.9 percent; agricultural enterprises – 0.1 percent, state-run enterprises – 41.6 percent; and physical entities – 0.4 percent.
