DUSHANBE, January 23, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s team finished 16th in an International School Olympiad in Mathematics and Physics, wining one silver and three bronze medals.
The Olympiad was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on January 14-20.
Noilsho Nouraliyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Education (MoE), told Asia-Plus that school students from 41 countries had participated in the Almaty Math and Physics Olympiad.
Students from Tajik-Turkish Lyceum in Tursunzoda Igor Korobeynikov and Inom Mirzoyev won silver and bronze medals respectively in the mathematic competition, student from the Tajik-Turkish Lyceum in Khujand Bahrom Oripov won bronze medal in the physics competition, and student from Russian-Tajik gymnasium “Hotam & PB” Olimjon Pirmuhammad won bronze medal in the mathematics competition, the spokesman said.
