DUSHANBE, February 12, Asia-Plus - Kazakhstan intends to provide humanitarian aid to Tajikistan to mitigate effects of ongoing energy crisis and severe electricity shortages, Kazakh Ambassador to Tajikistan Yerlan Abildayev announced at a press conference in Dushanbe on February 11.
According to him, such a decision was made after a telephone conversation of President Emomali Rahmon with his Kazakh counterpart, President Nursultan Nazarbayev, that was held at the end of last week.
“The Kazakh government is currently considering this issue,” said the ambassador, “Kazakhstan plans to send to Tajikistan fuel to provide work of its heat and power plants as well as wheat flour and grains for the population.”
