DUSHANBE, February 11, Asia-Plus – - Foreign ministers of Iran and Tajikistan discussed major bilateral, regional and international issues at a meeting in Tehran Sunday morning.

In the course of the talks, Hamrokhon Zarifi and his Iranian counterpart, Manouchehr Mottaki, stressed the significance of promotion of Tehran- Dushanbe ties.

They also reviewed the two countries cooperation in the field of carrying out joint projects as well as fighting terrorism.

The Tajik minister felicitated the 29th victory anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran which is being celebrated throughout the country during the 10-Day Dawn national festivity.

Zarifi arrived in Iran on Saturday as part of a political and economic delegation headed by Tajik President Emomali Rahmon who was officially welcomed by his Iranian counterpart President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Sunday morning at the Presidential premises.
