DUSHANBE, February 13, Asia-Plus - Tajik Economic Development and Trade Minister Ghulomjon Bobozoda yesterday met with his Azeri counterpart, Economy Minister Geidar Babayev, in Baku, Azerbaijan to discuss venue, date and the agenda of the first session of Tajik-Azeri commission fro trade and economic commission, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT).
The source at a MoEDT said that Bobozoda and Babayev, who are cochairmen of the Tajik-Azeri economic commission, also discussed ways to expand bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.
Bobozoda, in particular, noted that Tajikistan was interested in establishment of cooperation with Azerbaijan in producing aluminum, developing transportation and rail communication, as well as enhancing banking sector.
According to the State Committee for Statistics, a trade between Tajikistan Azerbaijan last year amounted to some $47 million.
