DUSHANBE, February 15, Asia-Plus  -- The Unit for Implementation of the Community and Basic Health Project (CBHP) in Tajikistan has purchased more than 50 generators for districts of Sughd and Khatlon provinces, Nargis Qosimova, public relations coordinator, CBHP Implementation Unit, told Asia-plus on Friday.   

According to her, the generators will be distributed to central district hospitals, district health centers in 16 districts of Sughd and 25 districts of Khatlon.   

“Generators with capacity of 6 kW each will allow ensuring regular work of, first of all, intensive care departments,” the public relations coordinator said.   

She added that the assistance had been provided within the framework of support to renew the primary health care infrastructure and support measures to improve service delivery in Khatlon and Sughd provinces.   

The Community and Basic Health Project for Tajikistan, which is sponsored by World Bank, aims to increase access to, utilization of, and patient satisfaction with health services in project-supported areas, and to build capacity and efficiency at national, provincial and district oblast levels in administering a basic package of health benefits and introducing financing reforms in primary health care.
